Middle Camps region - January 2014 visit

Roberto, Lorenzo and I went for a day’s visit. We went directly to the Middle Camps region and visited three schools. One was Musadder which is our biggest school. The children were busy working despite the loss of electricity, as they have it only 6 hours a day now.

The pictures show the children busy in their classes and some outside playing. Don’t miss seeing the merry-go-round which is packed with children. We want to begin helping a new school in the same region so Mohamad Musadder, the director of the school with the same name, took us to see two schools located in two very poor areas. We were less impressed with the first large school which seemed very noisy and disorganized.

The second school is just beginning having opened in September. It is smaller and in need of basic items like tables, shelves and cupboards. The kitchen is large yet empty so it will need to be furnished to be able to prepare meals for the children. The directress is educated and has experience. We will most likely sponsor this school. Sabah and Wasel are still studying this possibility.
