April 2016, visiting schools

April gave me two Days for visiting our schools as they finish in May for the summer. I was able to visit three of the four pre-schools. I was impressed by the letters and numbers that they have learned. The Ministry of Education gives them the curriculum and it's a great guide for the teachers.

The meals that we fund via the generosity of El Omri are nutritious. It may be the only meal some of them get a day. Blood tests show that they no longer have rickets or anemia. Two schools were serving cracked wheat with tomato sauce. If one child seems mal nourished in a class the teachers contact the parents and see that they see a doctor.

We still provide glasses for those in need. Last month we provided a little girl with a hearing aid. The pictures again show the activities going on in the various schools. The new musical instruments are greatly appreciated. Music is very much part of life in Gaza.
