Three of us went down for two days: Roberto, Joe and I had great weather to visit the Gaza strip. Sabah met us as usual on the Gaza side. We had some books to give to the school near the border so we went there first. Fawyseh was there to meet us. Two classes of the children were out playing and two classes were inside studying. They were happy to see the new books. The teacher decided to read one right away to them.
The rest of the two days were spent in visiting homes where we had repaired their leaky roofs and saw three homes that badly needed repair in order not to be soaked with rain. The roofs also protected the families from the wind which entered everywhere. Some of these homes also need a bathroom or kitchen. The high lite of the visit was meeting an architect who agreed to give us estimates on the needs of each home, supervise the repairs, help purchase, quality materials at a good price. He will do this for us volunteering his precious time. He is a good friend of Sabah and the husband of Dr. Amina. The Lord is caring for his needy ones!
