Fr. Juan and I went to Gaza just for the
day September 19th. and really covered visiting many places. We
began with a visit to Fawyseh's school. Being it is the beginning of the school
year there were few children; gradually more will be registering. The children
were eating falafel sandwiches which were delicious.
The medicines for the month were being distributed to the sick at a pharmacy, so we witnessed how this is done and found that Sabah and Wasel had it all very well organized. Three people came for medicines while we were there. One was a little girl who was there with her mother is very under sized for her age and slow in her development.
Next we went to the new building for the Zahar School. Formerly it was a home and can be easily adapted for a school. It has very little furniture. The children had a good time playing with Fr. Juan. This school needs tables, kitchen equipment, toys for the inside, schools materials, rugs for each room and outdoor toys for the playground.
They have two classes now and will be opening a third and will have one room as a play room in time. Sabah has taken some nice pictures which we have shared with you. We ended by attending the music class that was given for our teachers and found Mahmoud doing a great job as their teacher. It was a great day.
