February-March 2012 visit and meeting in Gaza

February 2012 - We visited the two schools in the north. Arriving at El Arabia there was dark classes due to no electricity. The hot meal was made in Fawyseh’s home and her daughter’s home as a result, as they had electricity. I took pictures of the salad and “majudra”. We asked the teachers what toys they wanted for inside toys and Al Arabia and Amjad wanted the same types of things.

March 2012 - Our purpose was to sit in on the meeting of all the directors of the schools and the social worker. Some were late due to the gas prices going up the night before and less services taxis were available as a result. Each shared about the various NGOs who were giving training to the teachers or the parents of the children. One which affects our school is that ENERA has stopped giving out milk and wafers to our schools; Islamic relief of France has begun on a much smaller scale. Only three of our schools receive these two items now.

God bless you and your work! I went to a school run by the Daughters of Charity and was just surfing the web and found this. I am so impressed by your work in this troubled area.

The people of Gaza are lucky to have you.
