Period of the second cease fire August 15

Sabah wrote that they were able to visit three areas and one hospital and the parish school. They found many of the families whom we know and who have files with us. She was able to get them medicines using the same system with the pharmacies that we use with the shops. A list of needed medicines was given to the pharmacist, the parents come for the medicines, sign and we pay the pharmacy.

By this times more had lost family members, more homes were leveled and the homeless were everywhere looking for a shelter. Some people now had water and food but needed items such as: dishes, kitchen utensils, mattresses, hygiene kits and clothing. All had only the clothes they had worn when fleeing from the shelling.

Sabah began it assemble hygiene kits with 16 items if basic necessities such as: diapers for some, kotex for others, soap and such to keep them free from disease. One school where hundreds took refuge had someone with scabies and now everyone in this school must be treated for scabies. A convoy was going from Jerusalem to Gaza, so I bought clothing for children, men and women and food. We were not allow to send canned items, shampoo other such items that there was a fear that rockets can be made of, so it was hard. We had to send dry beans, rice and things that need cooking. On the Gaza side the items were sent to the Red Cross to be sorted so Sabah could send a truck for them to store and distribute from our office.

The numbers of orphans are growing as daily more are found. Our home in Bethany is ready to receive them, yet getting them out of Gaza is impossible at this time.
Lorenzo’s pictures tell the story.
